MAYBELLINE THE ROCKET VOLUM' EXPRESS MASCARA REVIEW

I've been wanting to review this mascara for a while as it's been my go-to everyday mascara since I picked it up on a whim in boots. The flamboyant name definitely had me curious as to just how volumising this mascara would be.

First things first, this isn't the most volumising mascara I've ever used, by far. I'd say it's strengths are lengthening, smoothing and separating the lashes, with a subtle everyday wear volume. I have quite long lashes and therefore often opt for volumising formulas, but I was pleasantly surprised by how this mascara separated and defined my lashes, it definitely gave a bright, opened up look to my eyes.

I think the great separation is down to the brush, I don't normally get along with plastic brushes but this is undeniably similar to the Covergirl mascara wands which I love. The brush is easy to use and is thick enough to make building up the mascara a dream.

I would say it takes a few coats to get the most out of this mascara, that's when the volume really starts to happen. One coat will give you a subtle everyday look, and it took me a few coats to achieve the look shown above. Overall I think this is a great everyday mascara that gives beautiful effects, It's definitely earned it's place in my make-up bag.

Have you tried this mascara?

MINI HAUL, PRIMARK & M.A.C

Hey everyone! I'm really excited to be writing my first haul post, and surprisingly it's a Primark haul! I don't usually shop at Primark, but after seeing some of the stock they have in at the minute I think I'll be a regular visitor! I got these gorgeous black and white polka dot shorts, I saw a pair similar to these in Miss Selfridge
a few weeks ago, but I'm so glad I waited and bought these instead! I think they'd look gorgeous with a plain white cami, and I got them for just £10.

I also came across this gorgeous satchel, I was tempted to buy the neon yellow/green version, but thought I'd get more use out of a more wearable everyday colour. I love the silver hardware and I can see this being a bag I'll use year round, which makes it a bargain at £9!

I'm so pleased I found these gorgeous cami's, the bright pink will match perfectly with MAC's Impassioned which I've been wearing to death lately, and is a nice floaty sheer fabric. I also picked up this gold chain strap cami in black, I think it would be a lovely piece to wear on a night out and I'm obsessed with the chain straps! at £5 each, I just couldn't resist.

My last purchase, (and the one I'm most excited about!) is Morange by MAC. I've been lusting after this lipstick for absolutely ages and haven't been able to find a close enough dupe. This gorgeous bright, true orange shade brightens up any complexion, and is the perfect edition to my bold summer lip collection I have coming along!

What have you been purchasing lately?

MY EVERYDAY MAKEUP #1

Hey lovelies! I thought I'd share with you the make-up I've been reaching for everyday, since the weathers really hot in the UK at the moment I've gone very minimal with my makeup, which I'm glad about as it takes a lot less time to get ready now!

Base
For my base I've been reaching for the No7 Beautiful Skin BB Cream, it has a lovely balmy texture and evens out my skin tone beautifully. I find the coverage is great for a BB cream and I don't lust after a foundation after applying! I then go in under my eyes and over any blemishes with the Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer, it's a great budget concealer that does the job well and really does last all day.

Blush/Bronze/Highlight
I've been using the St Tropez Highlighter in Violet lately, but I'm on a hunt for a good powder highlight to replace it, any suggestions would be great! I've been using the Avon Glow Bronzer, but I find it doesnt show up too well on my skin tone so I'm also on the hunt for a new everyday bronzer. I've recently discovered the Sleek Blushes, and while spying through the stand at Superdrug I found Rose Gold. It's a beautiful rosy tone blush with gold pigments and shimmer, I'm in love!

Eyes
I've been sticking with my holy grail eye palette lately which is the Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette, I prefer this to the original Naked Palette as I find the colours a lot more wearable and versatile. In this look I opted for the colours Foxy as a base, Bootycall as a highlight and a hint of Half Baked for the outer corners. On my lashes I used my current favourite mascara Maybelline The Rocket Volume, which I plan to review soon in a post.

Lips
After applying a little lip balm, I used MAC's Costa Chic on my lips, it's the perfect forsty coral shade which is gorgeous for summer and really brings out blue eyes!

SUMMER HEATWAVE MAKEUP ESSENTIALS

Topshop Lip Paint in Yeah Right - £7.00
Sinful Colors Candy Coated - £1.99

Hey everyone! Hope you're all well and enjoying the summer! I just wanted to apologise for the lack of posts recently, I've unfortunately been in an accident and now have to walk on crutches for a while, which is taking a while to adjust to! Hopefully I'll be back out there getting content for my blog within the next week or so!

Anyway, since we're having such nice weather at the minute I thought I'd show you my make-up essentials for looking hot in the summer heat! The first thing I found is my Sleek Blush in Rose Gold. This is the most beautiful rosy blush with gold shimmers, it's absolutely perfect for hot days as it's highly pigmented and lasts all day!

An absolute must have of mine for summer skin is the No7 Beautiful Skin BB Cream. I've used this throughout all of spring and summer instead of foundation (which was a scary transition at first!) I've noticed my skin has brightened up a lot since using this, and it feels cooling and soothing on the skin on those days that it feels too hot for makeup! It also has great coverage, I just can't get enough of this stuff!

Next, a product I plan to soon review and have been loving for hot days is the Maybelline Rocket Volume Mascara. I love this stuff, it beautifully lifts, seperates, and volumises. It also stays put and won't melt off in the humid weather.

Lastly I have two products which sadly appear to have sold out! The Topshop Lip Paint in Yeah Right and Sinful Colors Candy Coated. I'm obsessed with this Lip Paint and was so disappointed to find it gone at the Topshop make-up stands when I went to pick up more! It glides on beautifully and is a punchy orange/red tone. This stuff literally lasts all day and won't slide off in the heat. I'm a big fan of Sinful Colors and I love this cooling pastel lilac tone, it makes me feel refreshed just looking at it!

OOTD - CASUAL SUMMER

Hey guys! Hope you've all enjoyed your weekend, we've had lovely weather here in the UK, it finally feels like summer has arrived! I thought I'd share what I wore today with you, it's very casual as I was having a BBQ and drinks with my family, and it was super hot outside!

I chose to throw on my Neon Cami from Topshop as it's very lightweight and cool, and paired it with some Floral Shorts I picked up at Urban Outfitters last summer. I then slipped into my Hollister Leather Sandals, as they are my most comfortable and casual summer shoe.

What have you been wearing through the recent hot weather?

MOST WORN SUMMER ACCESSORIES

Hey guys! Hope you're all well, I thought I'd share with you today my most worn summer accessories that I've been reaching for the past few months.

1.Gilly Hicks Jumper
I know this isn't really an accessory, but I've been wearing it as a summer cover up with literally everything! Navy is a very versatile colour, so I've been wearing this over dresses and tops when it starts to get chilly, and even over bikinis at the beach.

2.Hamza Palm Bracelet
This is the cutest dainty silver bracelet, and I've been wearing it every day since I bought it! it reminds me of my holiday last year to Tunisia (where they have hamza palms on literally everything!)

3. Hollister Body Spray in Laguna Beach
As you guys probably know I am in love with the Hollister body sprays, and there's nothing better on a hot day than a refreshing floral spritz of this! I throw it in my bag in the mornings for mid-day pick me ups.

4. Orange New Look Bag
I've had this bag in my wardrobe for a while and I've recently rediscovered it, it brings a nice bright colour pop to outfits, and I like to clash it with navy colours.

5. Missguided Boots
I saw these online and just had to have them! They look gorgeous with everything and bring a slightly edgy feel into the mix, I've also worn them with tights recently on a cooler day and they looked great! definitely my favorite shoes at the moment!
